MAINTAIN PERSONAL HYGIENE AND GOOD HABITS

It is very important for a security guard to maintain personal hygiene and good habits so as to remain always fit and healthy. Some guidelines are given below :

  • Always wash hands with soap before meals or eating anything.
  • Brush teeth at least twice a day, in the morning and before going to bed.
  • Take a bath at least once every day.
  • Change under garments regularly.
  • Wear clean and properly ironed uniform.
  • Shave regularly.
  • Have a proper hair cut and comb your hair neatly.
  • Carry a handkerchief.
  • Do not spit every where.
  • Do not smoke or chew tobacco on duty.
  • Do not read novels, listen to music while on duty.
  • Use mosquito net at night.
  • Follow the dictum, "Sun Down Sleeves Down". In that, roll down the sleeves of the uniform during night to protect self from mosquito bites.
  • Apply anti-mosquito cream on exposed parts of the body during night duties.
  • Take maximum care and precautions against common ailments like fever, headache, cold & cough, etc. Consult a doctor and do not self medicate.
  • Always use own eating and drinking utensils as far as possible.

CORRECT POSTURES

 A correct Posture is defined as : A frame of mind affecting one’s thoughts or behavior and an overall attitude : thus implying that if a security guard’s posture is correct, his behavior is correct, his overall attitude is correct. It is therefore important that a Security Guard practices to maintain a correct posture and good bearing. There are a number of illustrations shown in subsequent images, which give difference between correct and incorrect posture and body positions. “Practice Makes a Man Perfect”. Hence when a Security Guard learns to maintain correct postures as illustrated, he will automatically maintain a good bearing, which projects him and his company / employer in good stead.
