Communication Equipment

Communication set-up is the sensory system of an association. There are different communication equipment that a security guard can used to communicate while releasing his/her duties at the premises. Communication equipment that are basically used in the PSS (Private Security System) are as under :-

  • Telephone : Telephone/Mobile is a communication device for transmitting speech over a long distance. Calls are best for very timely messages, short and urgent messages and direct communications with staff people you know. Calls are additionally an great method to set up a formal meeting or site visit.
  • Intercom or Door Phone : A intercom is internal, independent communication system for offices, buildings, residential societies and premises, in which outside calls can also be connected. Intercom has component like expert station which work as a exchange handset and headset etc. for tow way communication. A entryway telephone is a system that enables you to receive "calls" from your entryway or some other entryway on the outside of your building. When someone arrives at an outside door, they press a button that alerts one or different inside stations and then the individuals inside the building can talk to them by pressing a button on an inside station.
  • Walkie-Talkie : Walkie-talkie is a portable radio communication system. It is battery operated. Walkie-talkie are extensively used by police, private security and medical services. To use walkie-talkie set needs a licence from the government.
  • Public Address System : The public address system is use for public announcement during peace, disaster and emergency. It is a communication tool for addressing large number of people and visitors to a premises. The public address system is meant for issuing security instructions and messages of general interest. You must have seen public address system being used at the railways stations announcing the arrival and departure of trains.

CORRECT POSTURES

 A correct Posture is defined as : A frame of mind affecting one’s thoughts or behavior and an overall attitude : thus implying that if a security guard’s posture is correct, his behavior is correct, his overall attitude is correct. It is therefore important that a Security Guard practices to maintain a correct posture and good bearing. There are a number of illustrations shown in subsequent images, which give difference between correct and incorrect posture and body positions. “Practice Makes a Man Perfect”. Hence when a Security Guard learns to maintain correct postures as illustrated, he will automatically maintain a good bearing, which projects him and his company / employer in good stead.
