Functioning of Security Gate

The security gate generally has additional facilities and provisions for other security-related tasks and functioning as under :-

  1. Change Room :- It is meant for security crew to change in to security uniform. It is meant for safety crew to change in to security uniform.
  2. Duty Room :- It is meant for security staff and duty office to be present round the clock when required. This room additionally works as a reporting place for other safety staff.
  3. Waiting Area :- Waiting area for visitors to wait till the person concerned is ready to receive them.
  4. Key Box :- Key box there are two types of keys to any lock the original and duplicate key, which are kept in original key box and duplicate key box respectively.

Gate office has the office for safety's sake of the keys. The keys are issued by security officer or supervisor to the authorized appointments and an entry is made in the key register.

In order to ensure that are an efficient security system is in place, the following register and records are maintained at the gate office of any organization. The formats of the registers may vary from organization to organization. Proper maintenance and upkeep of the documents and registers is one of the important duties of a security guard.
